Sometimes I post to make you smile.
Sometimes I post to make you wonder-what's going on now.
Sometimes I post to make you think.
And finally...
Sometimes I post just for my own amusement!

Random Thoughts - Leaders

I do not have any place else to keep random thought. Then I thought of putting them here. I am not sure why they qualify as a deal and steal though. :)

I am thinking about leaders today. More specifically what makes people leaders? The conclusion I have come to is that a leader is a person that has to be able to take the heat and keep thinking.

If they are speaking they have to keep thinking so they do not say something stupid. If they are working they have to keep working so they cannot keep wrapped up in problems. They have to think.

That is one of the areas I have to work on. To be able to think clearly at all times.

Surprisingly Engaging Book

The Final Summit by Andy Andrews combines a bit of history, a bit of self-help, and a powerful story to keep me engaged and turning the pages. When I first opened the book I was ready for a little light reading. I certainly was surprised by the storyline. It was interesting and kept me paying attention.

The beginning of the book seemed a bit syrupy. It seemed to be about a powerful man who cared about people. He was older and had suffered loss. Being at a point in his life full of reflection I wondered if the story would go badly.

It quickly turned in to a book with angels, exciting dialogue, and a problem that definitely needed to be solved. The historical characters may not have been directly quoted, but they certainly could have acted and spoken the way they did in the book.

It was a pleasure to read about the mixture of characters. Although the problem to solve was the main plot to the story, the way the historical characters interacted was an amusing side line to the story. I definitely was entertained and inspired by this book. I felt energized to get back to my life and the people in it.

I definitely recommend reading this book. It is a great pick me up if you are feeling down or discouraged. For the faithful it can lead to thought processes that will come back to you in the days to come. The charm is that you do not even realize this will happen while reading the book.

BookSneeze

I just found this really cool site called BookSneeze.com. They will send you a book to review. I actually have my first one and am working on the review now. The sign up is easy and free!

After I was approved I went to order my first book. I had to work with the shopping cart a little to get the code in the right place. I also had to put in my paypal for the tiny shipping charge. The shipping charge was refunded in the next day or two.

It took about a week to 10 days for my book to arrive. But I have it! There is no requirement for me to write a positive review either. I could not ethically agree to that. This certainly qualifies a a deal and steal for me. I love to read.
